I'm Making Just as Much Money as I Would Have Working Full-Time | Teacher Stories
Melvin teaches English in Yangon, Myanmar. He talks about the importance of taking action and shares his results. Melvin joined the Teaching Business Catalyst training program and tripled his monthly income in two weeks. He talks about it in this video. Here's what he says:
Well, hello there! My name is Melvin, Melvin San Miguel. OK. So, where am I from? I'm from London, U.K. Actually, I'm from Essex, a place called Essex in East London. That's where I'm originally from. But I have now moved over to here in Yangon, Myanmar, also known as Burma. I live here with my wife and my son. OK. And I worked, and I've been living here, I work here, I've been working here for about two years now. OK. So that's me, Melvin San Miguel, living in Myanmar, in Yangon Myanmar, as known as Burma.
So, before joining this program, what was I doing? Well, I used to work full-time as a preschool teacher, a native English preschool teacher, teaching English to 2-to-5 year olds. A great job, great fun, been doing that for almost two years and I've recently left that job. I left at the end of term, which was about a week ago. So, I've been in this program for about two weeks now.
I was focused on basically giving myself more time and trying to make as much money part-time than I was working full-time on my job. When I joined the program, I initially thought, OK, I'm going to try to make about $400 and I was able to do that in the first week. I'm now in my second week and I've made just over $1,100, so far, and I've got booking for the next three months. So, it does work. There are tips and techniques that Kris will teach you that you can implement straight away as long as you take action.
So, why did I decide to join the program? Well, I decided to join because I thought this was a great way you could make money online, but also you can make money using the same techniques in your offline business, which I've done already. You can have all these ideas, you can have all these amazing things that you can think about, but they happen unless you take action. So, that's the key thing really. You've got to take action, take step by step actions and in a week a lot can happen, just like for myself.
So, that's what I found very positive. In the training there is a goal setting exercise where you get to write down your goals and put a deadline on those. What do you want to achieve in the next month? What do you want to achieve in the next three months, six months. Who do you want to be? What kind of person do you want to become? Three things I want to quickly share with you is number one, you've got to become a new person, number two, find your niche and create your offer, and three, use a proven process for attracting leads and converting them into clients. So, those are the three things, quick tips I'll share with you.
So, what has changed here? I think I've changed as a person. I've just stopped worrying so much and stopped putting things off. I think what I've done now is I'm able to use or approach problems with a business mentality, where the more problems you solve, the more money you make. Other people see problems and complain about it. Which do you want to be? You can either make money or make excuses, but you can't have both. So that's what's changed. I've just stopped complaining. I've stopped moaning. I think I've just focused on being positive and taking positive actions and achieving my clear goals.
So, what recommendations would I make for you if you haven't joined the program yet? Well, if you haven't joined the program already - what are you waiting for? The training is free, but maybe it's not for you. It's not for everyone. In this program there's a lot of useful, free videos to watch. There's some downloads for you to download, enjoy, and use. You've got to take action. You've got to want to learn it. You've got to have an open mind.
